This case follows the couple of George and Kathy Lutz who moved into the home shortly after the Defeo murders. The pair claimed to experience paranormal activities and on January 13 1976, they fled the house with little more than the clothes on their backs never to return. This couple received wide spread media attention and were the inspiration for the many retellings of the Amityville horror we know today. Today we are discussing what happened to the Lutz during their short time living in the home as well as the speculation surrounding the truth of their story. This is a true crime case that took place in a house at 112 Ocean Avenue Thirty miles outside of New York City, in the Long Island town of Amityville. The case follows the Defoe family. Particularly Ronald Defoe who on Wednesday, November 13, 1974 murdered his entire family in the Amityville house while they were sleeping in their beds. The house and the horrors that occurred inside of it have been the inspiration for the best-selling book The Amityville Horror (1977) which was later adapted into a film and since then countless tv shows film remakes have been released. The house itself is said to be haunted and has drawn many paranormal experiences some of which occurred during filming both the original movie in 197 and the remake in 2005. This is an equally fascinating and infuriating cold case which to this day remains unsolved. In part one we will be looking over the case in detail talking about his three victims and the initial investigation into the true identity of Bible John.
