As there were no laws in place at that time regarding the Segway the Santa Cruz police said there was no way to regulate their usage so they had to say no to a Segway Dealership in Santa Cruz so we moved to a Costa Rica. When the Segway was legalized by Federal law, we contacted the Santa Cruz Police Department; and within days we received word we were Okayed to open up Santa Cruz Segway.
