<title>Positives from the Pandemic</title>
<link>https://www.buzzsprout.com/2127736/13109101-positives-from-the-pandemic.mp3</link>
<description> In this episode we discuss the bright spots from amongst the darkness of the COVID 19 pandemic. With the distance of a little bit of time, we look back and think about the good things that happened during the pandemic, and the positive things we might learn from that time. While it was an unprecedented global catastrophe, it did allow many of us to take stock of our lives and our relationships, and make changes where we felt it might be necessary. We might have connected with our friends and family in different ways while isolating, it was a more purposeful and perhaps more meaningful connection. Listen in as we discuss our bright side lessons from the pandemic. Support the show You can contact me, Dr. Jennifer, through Instagram at dr.jennt, or contact my cohost Lauren at wide-lens.com. <title>The Dynamics of Women's Friendships</title>
<link>https://www.buzzsprout.com/2127736/13023338-the-dynamics-of-women-s-friendships.mp3</link>
<description> In this episode we discuss women&amp;amp;apos;s friendships. They can be sturdy and lifelong: the kind of friendship where you can pick up where you left off after not speaking for years. They can also be difficult with highs and lows, good times and bad, just like any relationship. Some are so fragile they have to be treated like they are made of glass. There are friendships where you can share anything and know you won&amp;amp;apos;t be judged, and there are friendships in which you know you have to be careful about what you share because you are pretty sure you don&amp;amp;apos;t hold confidence and you will be judged. I am joined by my cohost Lauren Supina of Wide Lens Coaching to discuss this issue and the intricacies and dynamics of women&amp;amp;apos;s friendships. <title>Women &amp; the Word No</title>
<link>https://www.buzzsprout.com/2127736/12967148-women-the-word-no.mp3</link>
<description> We discuss how women have been acculturated to be people pleasers. It&amp;amp;apos;s great to help others! But when pleasing others costs us, it is no longer beneficial. One of the things we have trouble with is saying "no." We worry that we will be perceived as being difficult, or people will have bad feelings towards us, or question whether we have a valid reason for saying no. But the fact is, we don&amp;amp;apos;t have to give a reason! As they say, "no" is a complete sentence! Even if it causes us some discomfort at first, it&amp;amp;apos;s important that women get comfortable saying no when we just can&amp;amp;apos;t, or don&amp;amp;apos;t want to take on another thing.    Support the show You can contact me, Dr. Jennifer, through Instagram at dr.jennt, or contact my cohost Lauren at wide-lens.com. <title>The Fatigue of Motherhood</title>
<link>https://www.buzzsprout.com/2127736/12904237-the-fatigue-of-motherhood.mp3</link>
<description> In this episode, we discuss the fatigue of being a mother. Motherhood can be, and usually is a wonderful experience! But there are also difficult aspects to being a mother which are sometimes not discussed, or are discouraged from being discussed. There is a shame some women feel, or are made to feel, if elation and fulfillment are not the only emotions conveyed around the experience of mothering. We discuss how important it is to allow mothers to acknowledge when they need, that they are struggling or having a difficult time. Being in a psychological space of overwhelm or exhaustion does not make you a bad mother. My co-host, Lauren Supina and I go deeper on this subject, and ways we can help ourselves, and other mothers get through difficult time.    Support the show You can contact me, Dr. Jennifer, through Instagram at dr.jennt, or contact my cohost Lauren at wide-lens.com. <title>The Loneliness of Women's Emotions</title>
<link>https://www.buzzsprout.com/2127736/12832858-the-loneliness-of-women-s-emotions.mp3</link>
<description> In this powerful episode, we discuss the loneliness women feel when we have to suppress our emotions to satisfy cultural expectations. We talk about those emotions which are not acceptable for women to express openly, like anger, grief, or loneliness. Women are the ballasts for the family and as such are frequently not given permission to express strong feelings openly. Instead these emotions are repressed and repressed, sometimes manifesting as illness or anxiety. If all of us, women included, were allowed to feel our emotions, understand our emotions, and share our emotions, we would all be healthier. <title>The Post-Pandemic Workplace</title>
<link>https://www.buzzsprout.com/2127736/12762009-the-post-pandemic-workplace.mp3</link>
<description> I am joined by my frequent cohost, the amazing Lauren Supina, to discuss the state of the workplace post-pandemic. Employee wellbeing is plummeting, despite the hopefulness that a lot of us had during the pandemic that there would be a "new normal." There was expectation that work and life balance would be recalculated to take into consideration worker wellbeing. The stress from our workplace carries over into other aspects of our lives. <description> I discuss with my cohost Lauren Supina how prevalent experiencing a setback can be, and how important it is to hold space for our own recovery, as well as how to respond with empathy when someone close to us experiences a setback. This could be a job loss, divorce, death of a loved one, or any of the myriad of ways we encounter personal and professional setbacks. <title>Women, Workplace &amp; Boundaries</title>

<description> I am joined by the amazing Lauren Supina, my frequent cohost, to discuss the sticky issues of women in the workplace and drawing boundaries. Often women who are strict about their workplace boundaries - for example not agreeing to plan a birthday party or clean up after a staff event - can be viewed negatively. We talk about how it can be hard to hold these boundaries but important for our welfare and our professional growth. <title>Getting Unstuck in Your Life</title>
<link>https://www.buzzsprout.com/2127736/12579022-getting-unstuck-in-your-life.mp3</link>
<description> Dr. Jennifer and Lauren Supina discuss  the feeling of being stuck in our lives, whether  professionally or personally, and how to get unstuck. Whether we are stuck in relationships, work, household management, routines, being stuck is a lack of movement and a lack of change. Being stuck doesn&amp;amp;apos;t mean you are bored or have nothing to do: you can be busy all day long and still be "stuck." In fact being busy might distract us from the fact that we are "stuck." Somewhere inside us we are seeking change and fulfillment that the inertia of our lives keeps us from paying attention to. We can also be stuck in our relationship with ourself.
