The Visalia Rescue Mission has been operating for over 40 years and has a womens' temporary housing shelter, a mens' temporary housing shelter, a women's and men's 1-year drug addiction recovery program, a thrift store, and a boutique. Their program offers hands-on job skills and training through their very successful boutique and thrift store businesses, as well as biblical discipleship, life skills such as interviewing and professional behavior, parenting classes, and trauma education. After completion of their recovery program, graduates go on to transitional housing where they practice living on their own (almost) out in the real world again with a lot of love and support.
