The business has survived the retail crisis that has affected the town - proving that great customer service, consistent high quality offerings and an owner with a passion for his work can overcome even a global pandemic. Now in 2019, as the Educate Together movement expands into post primary education and has become the ethos of choice for so many parents in Ireland, this radio documentary I made with the help of the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland's Sound and Vision fund, tells the story of its origins.  I'm working with Educate Together on a video story, and this documentary is a very useful archive of this wonderful story. Mary, a distinguished scientist, TCD graduate and science communicator, was commissioned to produce an audio trail bringing the scientific highlights of Trinity College to life. In this recording, Mary talks about "The Man who Split the Atom".  Mary died after a short illness in June of this year. Lots of us still miss her wonderful intelligence, great communications skills and her friendship. RIP.  This evening, October 8th 2015, friends and colleagues remember Mary in the Department of Genetics  on the grounds of Trinity College.
